QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business or Information Technology related field OR equivalent professional sales experience with proven track record of success required.  Two years previous telecommunications direct sales experience highly recommended. Advanced computer literacy required, including but not limited to Microsoft Office. Experience with NISC software preferred. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Elevate, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta-Montrose Electric Association, reserves the right to change or modify the duties and essential functions of this position at any time.

 

In an efficient and professional manner, and in accordance with applicable labor agreements and the DMEA Accident Prevention Manual:

 

  1. Executes direct sales and builds relationships within assigned geographic area for the purpose of new commercial client acquisition.

 

  1. Initiates new service agreements for Elevate commercial subscribers, maintains current subscriber base, generates new sales, and coordinates delivery of services.

 

  1. Negotiates contracts with commercial Elevate subscribers.

 

  1. Schedules and conducts appointments with new and existing commercial subscribers to determine sales opportunities and maintain subscriber base.

 

  1. Serves as the key accounts manager for all commercial Elevate subscribers. Conducts regular meetings with key accounts to ensure satisfaction, retention, and growth of products sold.

 

  1. Attracts new potential commercial subscribers by answering product and service questions, suggesting information about other products and services; opens and maintains commercial subscriber accounts

 

  1. Manage all service orders through to completion and customer satisfaction.

 

  1. Works with Subscriber Service Coordinator to prepare service quotations and contracts, organize work orders, and coordinate installation with engineering/technical staff.

 

  1. Resolves telecommunications problems by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, implementing or recommending solutions, and escalating problems as appropriate in accordance with escalation procedure. Maintains commercial subscriber satisfaction by responding to inquiries, service requests, follow up with commercial subscribers to ensure service meets requirements, notification of engineering/technical difficulties or scheduled maintenance and complaints.

 

  1. Support and assist the Marketing Department in the implementation of Elevate marketing plans as needed.

 

  1. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed by management.

 

  1. Completes other duties as assigned.

Individual has the authority to take whatever action is deemed advisable or necessary and may initiate and carry out the action; but is required to advise superiors of the action taken when deemed necessary.  Must inform superiors of non-routine situations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Requires in-depth knowledge of customer transactions, customer satisfaction, and telecommunication sales. Must have a demonstrated ability to deal directly with the public, existing and potential subscribers, and other employees.

 

Must have demonstrated effective communication skills, including: presentation, verbal, written, and listening skills, and the ability to effectively work as part of a team. Strong time management and organizational skills are required.

 

Requires demonstrated personal motivation (a self-starter) with high energy and a track record of successful, credible lead follow-up and sales development experience. Proven sales and prospecting skills required, including a confident, but conversational phone presence. Must have proven ability to sustain and grow a healthy sales pipeline. Must demonstrate willingness to train and master solution selling and the ability to develop tactics to create and close opportunities. Proven ability to understand a client’s business issues and work with a team to engineer network and managed IT solutions.

 

Requires the ability to present information to others and communicate effectively; and work in a changing environment to complete projects accurately within reasonable deadlines.  Must work collaboratively with coworkers, members, and others.

 

Requires understanding and the ability to negotiate and interpret contracts, agreements, and administrative policies to properly apply provisions to directing the work of others as appropriate. 

 

Understands the concept of providing quality services to our members/subscribers and agrees to maintain a continuing commitment to superior people-to-people service. 

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of keyboard/computer; and occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.  Requires finger dexterity, good vision and hearing, ability to speak, and the ability to perform close work.  Office equipment used includes personal computers, related software, copy machines, fax machines, etc. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regular, predictable attendance is required.  Close to 80% of the employee’s day is spent indoors at a desk in an office environment. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by workload. Frequent travel within the service area by company or personal vehicle is required. Occasional travel by commercial means is required.
